One of the UK’s leading barbers, with venues in four of the country’s biggest cities, will be opening its biggest store yet in Birmingham’s world-famous Bullring Shopping Centre on the 17th August 2016.
The ultimate luxury for both ‘scoundrels and gentlemen’ alike, BarberBarber prides itself on impeccable service and extensive knowledge in the craft of men's haircutting and bespoke shaving, in luxurious surroundings, in the finest buildings in cities across the UK.
It is the brainchild of Johnny ‘The Baba’ Shanahan, who cut his teeth, so to speak, in the local Barbers in his home town of Limerick. Johnny worked his way up from sweeping floors to cutting hair, before opening his own barbers at 23, developing his own style and techniques and keeping on top of trends by attending training courses in the UK.
Johnny opened the first BarberBarber UK store in Manchester in 2014, and its success has given rise to another four since, located in London, Liverpool, and Leeds. With a company turnover of £3.5 million and employing 75 members of staff, the new kid in town looks set to continue its success in Birmingham.
During the launch week, as well as Johnny, one of the world’s leading barber’s, Dale Ted Watkins, will be behind the chair throughout, giving gentlemen who visit BarberBarber the benefit of his extensive skill and expertise.
BarberBarber’s will be a haven for the everyday man, as staff work hard to create a relaxing and friendly, yet professional, environment on Birmingham’s bustling Link Street, and deliver the very best service, from complementary beverages to bespoke haircuts and shaving. The surroundings will follow the brands stylish design, with retro features yet modern conveniences.
The equally stylish barbers are all trained in-house, and are talented professionals who tailor bespoke designs to suit each individual man. Rather than copy photos of celebrities, they prefer to work with a gentleman’s own style and features to deliver a cut that suits them.
“I remember my Grandad taking me as a young boy to the local barbers, and it’s such a fond, nostalgic part of my childhood that I really wanted to keep that tradition going and give other young gentleman the opportunity to make similar memories.
“Customer service is at the heart of BarberBarber’s offering, from the very first greeting to the professional atmosphere and standard of service we offer. I don’t care who you are, every customer of ours is a VIP and will receive the best service, from the person washing your hair to the talented barber who cuts it.
“That’s what the good people of Birmingham can expect from us. We don’t do appointments, we do walk-ups, so if you’re in need of haircut and a bit of R&R, we’re your men.”
The people behind BarberBarber are an ambitious lot and, for as long as they enjoy bringing their offering to style-conscious gentlemen, have plans to expand across the country, and maybe even the world.
As well as bespoke hair dressing, BarberBarber also offer precision beard sculpting, traditional cut-throat shave and a ‘Lil Rascal’s Shampoo Cut and Finnish’.
